Leonardo is a great teacher as he’s super kind and really encouraging, especially when I mess up (which happens a lot as a beginner). He always helps me stay motivated and keeps things positive. I highly recommend him as piano teacher ;)

I really enjoy my piano lessons with Lennard. He is patient and encouraging, creating the perfect environment for learning. Lennard is a very good teacher. He is very dedicated, he gives a lot of interesting theoretical knowledge. The lessons structure covers all the important topics. After 4 teachers I had before, I finely have an impression I found a suitable one.

Lennard is een hele goede docent. Ik begon helemaal zonder kennis van de piano of muziektheorie en voel me na een paar lessen steeds iets comfortabeler achter mijn piano. Lennard heeft duidelijke slides die je na de les nog even na kan lezen, met goede huiswerkopdrachten om in de vrije tijd mee bezig te zijn. Daarnaast heeft Lennard het talent om heel duidelijk ingewikkeldere concepten uit te leggen en vertelt hij interessante feiten tijdens de lessen. Ik was terughoudend met het leren pianospelen maar door deze lessen ben ik heel blij dat ik ben begonnen. Het is duidelijk dat Lennard een passie voor muziek heeft en dit graag met iedereen wil delen.

Who am I?

I am Lennard Vaarten, a pianist, composer and music producer, with a master degree in Music & Technology from HKU. I compose and produce music for my own projects susurrus and lennard&lennard. I also have experience composing and producing music for media applications and for other artists (examples can be found on the rest of this website).

What are the lessons like?

My lessons run the whole gamut: sheet music, rhythmic exercises, ear training, chords and scales, you name it. However, the lessons are specifically tailored to what fascinates you in music. If sheet music just doesn’t work for you, we can start by using chord diagrams to jam along to some pop songs. And if writing music is what you’re really interested in, we’ll dive into how to come up with chord progressions and melodies that work.

Prices & practical info

My piano lessons are open to beginner and intermediate musicians of all ages at €30 per 45 minutes. Lessons at home are possible if you live in Utrecht. If not, I also teach online lessons.
